PCCEO Head Start and Early Learning​

Managed a project that involved obtaining the heights and weights of 300+ children and teaching a 15-minute "eat the rainbow" activity to 23 Head Start classrooms

Peoria Riverfront Farmer's Market

Presented several cooking demonstrations using recipes that feature local produce from the market


Decorah Farmer's Market

Developed a nutrition and food systems educational activity for kids at the market

Had kids drive a "produce truck" through two types of food systems represented through pictures: a conventional food system and a local food system

Created a "Farmer's Market Bingo" for kids to gain exposure to types of produce at the market​​​

Led several cooking classes for elementary and high school age children, focusing on balanced eating and fruit and vegetable intake

Volunteered at Peoria Grown's Market 309 which sells produce at a discounted price for those in need

Created a "Healthy Dorm-Room Breakfast" and presented the recipe and samples at the Market 309 held at Bradley University​

Spent one week at a summer camp for children with Type I and Type II diabetes

Worked individually with the kids in my cabin to plan all of their meals and carb counted each meal to determine insulin dosage​
